Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor from Bahrain's Manama was born into a multicultural family. Jacqueline's father Elroy is from Sri Lanka (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim is Malaysian. She has two brothers and one older sister. She was born and raised in Bahrain. Her parents moved there in the 1980s because of civil unrest that occurred in Sri Lanka. After finishing high school in Bahrain she received an Scholarship at University of Sydney to pursue an Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. As a lover of culture and different languages, she joined Berlitz Language School, where she studied Spanish as well as enhancing her French and Arabic. The crown was awarded to Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th, 2006 and also participated in Miss Universe 2006. As a result of winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006, Padukone began working on television. She hosted the television show Lanka Business Report which focused on business in Sri Lanka. Padukone is the daughter of the famous badminton player Prakash Padukone. She was brought up in Bangalore and born in Copenhagen. Padukone played in the national championships while an teen, but she gave her sporting career in order to pursue a career as a model. Padukone is from Mangalorean heritage and her native language is Konkani. Padukone, a village situated in Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi in Karnataka State, India, is where her ancestry is derived from. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend, who retired in the 1980s. The mother of her daughter, a travel agency, also hails from this village.
